The time has come to start transitioning into Spring Style. Although it’s been a pretty rainy season so far (out in SoCal anyway) there has still been some nice warm days. This is the perfect weather for layering up in Spring staples. I’m super excited to share today’s look with you guys because last time I layered a dress in this way on Instagram you guys loved it! Therefore I thought I’d dedicate a blog post to this style and how I like to rock it for this season. So if this is a style you’ve been wanting to try out read on for more!

Layer It Up

Although we’re moving into the warmer months of the year that doesn’t mean you won’t find me layering up. Quite the opposite. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with layering slip dresses over tees and turtlenecks. On colder days (like this one) I opt for the turtleneck as it’s a warmer alternative that is still chic and stylish. And because you’re pairing it with a slip dress it allows you to embrace the fun side of Spring fashion without freezing! On warmer days I love to layer a graphic tee or basic tee under a printed maxi slip or a shorter slip dress like this one. It’s a perfect mix of styles, girly and chic paired with relaxed and laid back. It’s also a super casual way to wear a dress, which is way more comfortable for me than wearing a dress with heels!

Colorblock, Mix N Match, or Keep It Simple

There are so many variations on how you can style this trend. Maxis, minis, turtles necks, band tees, etc.! Therefore I thought I’d share a few of my favorite tips on how to style this trend!

Color-blocking is a fun and flirty way to style this trend. I’ve been loving neutrals lately so I’ve kind of veered away from bright colors but if you’re into color I’d definitely try it out. Mix yellow and blue, pink and green, or red and orange. This will create a vibrant and fun Spring look full of flavor and style.

I also love to mix n match for this trend. Say you are wearing a striped t-shirt, throw a floral slip dress over it to do some pattern play. This is a great way to be bold and adventurous with your styling while still maintaining a cute cohesive look. And of course, it’s always great to keep it simple. For example, today’s look is a basic black and white look with a few fun details. The side slit and lace hem add a sexy element. The thumb hole turtleneck adds a chic touch. It’s an easy effortless look, not to mention full of staples that you can style in endlessly!
