What is the Body Positive Catwalk?

A flash mob organized by the non-profit association BODY POSITIVE CATWALK. Aimed to unite men and women of different physical forms, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, eventual deficits and any characteristic to break down prejudices, to fight bullying and remind us just through the characteristics of each of us that we are all, simply, human beings!

Gemma Lenoci Ig @gemma.lenoci

“I participated in the event because I think that we are all different and perfection doesn’t exist. We have to try to make us better but with our personal limits. I love the concept that we are all equal! And all of our characteristics are part of us.”

Gemma wore: Evolution Bralettte + Pret-A-Porter Hotpant

Fabiana Pastorino  Ig @fabiana_pastorino

“I’ve taken part in the Bodypositive catwalk since 2017, Laura is my best friend and I love and I support her in everything she does. And  I love the message, when I was young (16 y.o) I was bulimic, I did not accept my body, It was not easy to be accepted from the society, the same society that, in my mind, want me fit.
Now I love my self, I work every day to be the best me .❤️”

Rosaria Ferraro Ig @_rosyferraro

“I decided to participate in the body-positive to break down all the mental barriers of this society and make it clear that we are beautiful as we are, and that our imperfections make us unique!!”

Claudia Alba Ig @cla.alba

“Personal motivation. After a slimming down more than 20 kg I wanted to give myself an act of real revenge! I wanted to show myself, without fear or prejudice .. To undress both literally and metaphorically from everything I have endured for years, from teasing, from the looks of boys who often despised me and from the words of the girls who often hurt me! For me it was liberation and it’s like having said: HAVE YOU SEEN ?? I HAVE MADE IT AND ARE TOTALLY A FAIR AND PROUD OF HOW THEY ARE !!

The second reason is instead more general. In fact, it was for me to participate in a moment of social denunciation, as far as those aesthetic standards imposed by today’s society that do not reflect reality and often make many people feel uncomfortable because they do not see each other again!”

Claudia wore: Never Say Never Curvy Plungie + Hotpant

Giulia Gambini Ig @giuliamodellacoraggio

“I have always been a huge fan of Laura Brioschi and one day I wrote her an e-mail because I wanted the world to know more about trigeminal neuralgia, a chronic pain condition that affects the trigeminal nerve, causing severe facial pain, very similar to an electric shock.
Actually, I was feeling the necessity of speaking about it and I was super happy when Laura told me that I could join her in the body-positive catwalk in Milan!
My first Catwalk was in March and this one was the second one for me but it moved me just like as if it was the first time!
Being there with a group of such wonderful people is just so beautiful and it makes me feel happy about being me, just me, with my flaws and… my disease! Thanks to the Bodypositive Catwalk I started seeing trigeminal neuralgia in a different way and…
Now I  can say it loud: I have trigeminal neuralgia, but trigeminal neuralgia doesn’t have me! “

 Virginia Gioia Polizia Ig @virgygioia

“I decided to participate in the body-positive catwalk for all those times for my appearance, for my size height and weight I was told no.  I also participated, which is no less important, in bringing my smile and my positiveness to this association in which I firmly believe.”

Virginia wore: Forza Underwire Bra + High Waisted Bikini

Claudia Besana Ig @claudiabesana

“What prompted me to take part in the bpcw was the need to concertized my journey that lasted years of awareness linked to my body, both for its forms and for my disability. It was not easy to accept and love each other for what they are but I did it and bpcw was a way to reward me for this goal and to tell other people that maybe they think they can’t make it because they can’t.”

Claudia wore: Never Say Never Curvy Racie

Silvia Nobili Ig @unapolpettaperamica

“I don’t know exactly, but I do know that I wouldn’t have participated if I hadn’t the help of the girls of my little group (they’re both called Sofia and they’re in the picture with me), who were almost giving up at the last minute, writing me things like “Oh, no! I can’t come, I prefer staying in my hotel, I’ll think about it the next time”.

I’m an anxious person, but when I saw the indecision in their eyes, I’ve realized we could stay strong together to demonstrate to us and to the world that IF WE WANT, WE CAN.
I needed to demonstrate to myself that I believe that I’m beautiful not only in front of my video camera, but also in front of the whole world.”
Silvia wore: Bisou Move Bodysuit

Viviana Santoru IG @viviana_santoru

“It was my third Body Positive Catwalk and I will continue to participate because it is as if it were a “recharge” for me … it helps me to move forward in my acceptance and the prejudices of others!”

Giulia Zanetti IG @_giulia_zanetti

“To me, Body Positivity means accepting my body with all its curves, rolls, and stretch marks. It means seeing my physical self as worthy: worthy of love, of existing, of being valued as much as the next body. It is self-love in the face of narrow beauty ideals. Everyone deserves the opportunity to feel happy in their skin.”

[qodef_separator class_name=”” type=”normal” position=”center” color=”” border_style=”” width=”” thickness=”8″ top_margin=”” bottom_margin=””]

Beatrice Lari Ig: @bridabeatrice

“The thing that inspired me to take apart at the Body Positive Catwalk was the love for myself. I just needed to show how I feel free, strong and beautiful in my body no matter what!”

Sofie Fisicaro Ig:@sofiefisicaro

“I decide to take part in this event because I believe in its meaning. These two pics fully represent why I did this: The first one represents the occasion to meet new women and men that believe in your idea of self-confidence and want to disclose it to everyone else.
I have the opportunity to know these two girls and we star a very close friendship! We know each other and speak about what is very important to do, to make people start to know themselves and accept themselves, loving themselves.
The second picture represents my smile. My smile during this event wasn’t only a smile, it enclosed all my proudly, I was proud of myself for doing what I do because for the first time I start really to love my self, my body, my mind.”
