Innerwear Industry Raising Funds for Mary Krug Scholarship

Cosabella is honored to be part of the efforts to raise funds for the Mary Krug Scholarship


KRUG SCHOLARSHIP: The innerwear industry is banding together to raise funds for the Mary Krug Scholarship, which will benefit fashion lingerie students in the intimates field. Krug, a 40-year veteran of the Neiman Marcus Group who served as vice president and divisional merchandise manager of intimate apparel and children’s, died in November following a sudden illness.

So far, more than $58,000 has been raised by a number of companies including Neiman’s, Chantelle, Hanro USA, Spanx, the Carole Hochman Design Group, Komar, Wacoal America, Jonquil, Commando, Fashion Forms Inc., Fleur’t, Simone Perele, Yummie by Heather Thomson, Louis at Home, the Rita Harris Showroom, Cosabella and the Natori Co.

The effort, to be officially unveiled at the annual Femmy Awards on Tuesday, was kick-started by Ken Natori, vice president of e-commerce, finance, licensing and marketing at the Natori Co., Seth Morris, president and chief executive officer of CHDG, and Guido Campello, Cosabella’s vice president of sales, innovation and branding.

The Underfashion Club, which is hosting the industry event, will manage the scholarship. Schools to receive the funds have not yet been determined.

In other developments, this year’s host for the Femmy’s at Cipriani 42 Street in New York will be actress and comedienne Caroline Rhea.
