We are excited to announce Cosabella & Cosabella CEO Guido Campello’s membership to The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA). The CDFA is a not-for-profit trade association whose membership consists of more than 400 of America’s foremost womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers.
Last Thursday, the Board of Directors ratified the addition of 40 designers, which brings the total Membership to 508. Additionally, the CFDA Board of Directors unanimously voted to make Diane von Furstenberg Chairman of the CFDA. Steven Kolb becomes President and CEO, and Lisa Smilor Executive Vice President.
“Having lived on and off in New York since 1999 and having spent almost my whole life in the fashion community I’m excited to now be part of the CFDA. I want to bring my unique view and experience of the fashion industry in design and production development to the table for the betterment of CFDA members, the fashion community of New York and the fashion world at large.” – Guido Campello.
“The 40 new Members – the highest number joining the organization in its history — add to the diversity of the CFDA community,” Kolb said. “They include designers of jewelry, eyewear, swimwear, lingerie and millinery, as well as talent from Los Angeles, Kansas City, Miami and Austin.”
CFDA Board Member Reed Krakoff will host the New Members Party at his home on October 27. Krakoff became Admissions Committee Chair this year, succeeding Stan Herman who had served in that role since 2006.
