In the heart of our design studio, a cherished family heirloom has been reinvented as something wonderfully enchanting. Our Lead Designer, Dani Read, has infused personal heritage into our most dreamy collection yet: Romanza.
A Legacy Reimagined
The story begins with a handwoven cloth from Haiti—a treasured heirloom belonging to Dani’s mother-in-law. Rich with history and craftsmanship, this one-of-a-kind piece sparked a journey of inspiration that would evolve into an innovative cotton stretch lace, unlike anything we’ve created before.
“I remember the first time I looked at this fabric,” Dani says, running her fingers over the designs. “I could feel generations of creativity in my hands, and I couldn’t help but wonder: how wonderful would it be to be able to wear something that could honor that heritage and women could get to experience everyday.”
That question inspired months of passionate work. We took those concepts and turned them into our revolutionary cotton stretch lace.
Pranzo al Fresco: The Italian Inspiration
We’ve all had those ideal afternoons. Maybe sitting at a small table under dappled light. We savor a leisurely lunch with someone special to us. We aimed to capture that feeling of relaxation and loveliness. Living beautifully in the moment is embodied in Romanza: the “pranzo al fresco.”
Our custom-designed lace motifs, exclusive to Cosabella, draw directly from handmade heirloom lace techniques while incorporating modern comfort features. The cording stretch lace uses a combination of Turkish cotton. It offers a unique vintage look. This lace provides ventilation and the softness that women today expect.
